Bubbly: Oval Shaped Earrings Featuring Handwoven Wire Behind Fused Glass

Do you like sparkle? Be the center of attention with these earrings that have movement and shimmer! Textured sheet metal creates a subtle shimmer that offsets the sparkle of the woven metal under glass. Plus the extra layer of glass provides just enough distortion to make the woven metal really interesting. Perfect for that special evening out or for adding pizazz to a casual outfit.

To create these earrings, first I weave sheets of fabric from thin gauge wire using a medieval finger weaving technique. Then, I cut this woven metal fabric into smaller pieces to embed behind the shaped glass. With this series, I finish it off with textured silver or 14K gold fill sheet to add an extra shimmer. The different shapes of glass both magnify the weave, giving it more definition, as well as collect the light, making the entire piece glisten. Enjoy!

Gold: I'm using both yellow and rose 14K gold fill in my designs. Gold fill is 1/20th gold by weight, so it's a good compromise in quality and price between 14K gold and gold plate.
